I Have Always Had a Hyper Focused Mind

Do You Ever Feel Like You Can’t Fully Relax When Your Brain is Going a Million Miles Per Hour but Your Body Can’t Keep Up With That Speed?

I do , I have always had a hyper focused mind. Whether it’s something I’m fascinated with and can’t get enough of or fed up with , it can take a lot of my attention.

If I don’t understand something that I really need to know , or if I am left in limbo about an answer to something , then to be quite frank im screwed because trying to distract myself enough from the overwhelming need to understand something, just leaves me :-

🤯 Confused

🤯 Fractious

🤯 Anxious ( the biggest one)

🤯 riddled with overthinking

🤯 exhausted

🤯 hyper sensitive

🤯 second guessing and needing to ask lots of questions ( to try and understand)

🤯 feel nauseous and unsettled

🤯 burnt out.

It can seem to others that you are dramatising and addicted to stress.

But actually your trying to regulate feelings of uncertainty.

What happens in these moments is we innocently have created a habit of looking outside ourselves for what’s needed to bring us back to calm in that moment ( helping us to navigate uncertainty) but we won’t find it if we are panicking.

During my Reflexology sessions we work with This by :-

:- Breathework, I always start each treatment use breathing techniques to help ground and help clients signal to their body that they are safe.

:- 🥁 Drumroll please …… Reflexology 👣

The technique used helps to switch on the PNS ( parasympathetic nervous system) which signals to the body that you are not in danger and that it can relax and heal- this alone then switches back on the prefrontal cortex (PFC) this plays a central role in cognitive control functions, and dopamine for cognitive control, thereby influencing attention, impulse inhibition, prospective memory, and cognitive flexibility. From this no longer being all muddled we can think clearly and with clarity.

:- Debriefing - at the end of every session we talk about what the reflexes were showing ( this isn’t a diagnosis) and what needed attention.

Being aware of what our body is asking for and connecting in with that helps us to understand how best to meet our own needs and where to take steps next to help meet those needs.

The pace of the brain can slow down and be more present , most people say that after the session they felt they had achieved more from the slower pace of thinking , therefore had more energy to do and be clear on what they do.

It’s fascinating.

You are welcome to contact me for more info on booking in and having a moment of slowing down that’s right for you.

Take care
